If you are experiencing hair loss in your 30s: you are not alone. An estimated roughly 20% of men experience hair loss to some degree between ages 18 and 30. Dr. Bruce Marko, Hair Restoration Surgeon, shares how to deal with hair loss in your early 30s:

Identify the Cause
If you are experiencing hair loss in your early 30s, it is important to identify the cause. Determining how and why you are experiencing hair loss can be a long way. For men, androgenetic alopecia (otherwise known as Male Pattern Baldness) is the leading cause of hair loss. For women, the cause of hair loss can often be difficult to determine. For both sexes, Dr. Bruce Marko encourages you to consult with your primary care physician, to seek out the cause. Stress, nutritional deficiencies and other medical conditions can likely be the culprit of your hair loss. Even a particular hairstyle could be the cause!
Internal Causes: Stress and Nutrition
The second leading cause of hair loss among men and women in their 30s is stress. Reducing your stress levels and managing your stress hormones can make a major difference. Nutritional deficiencies are often a common cause of hair loss, particularly in young individuals. Consult with your primary care physician to determine if you are lacking any vitamins or minerals. The best vitamins for hair growth include: Iron, Vitamin D, Vitamin E, Biotin, Vitamin A, Vitamin B, Vitamin C, Zinc and Folic Acid.
External Treatment: Topical and Hair Transplants
If you have determined that your hair loss is caused by factors outside of your control, you might consider external treatment. Dr. Bruce Marko encourages you to start small: introduce scalp massages into your routine, ensure that you are hydrated and avoid harsh chemicals in your hair care routine. If you find that you are still experiencing hair loss, consider a topical treatment, such as Minoxidil or a hair transplant. Dr. Marko is an advocate for the no-shave FUE method utilized by RESTORE hair clinic — not just because he completes this plastic surgery himself, but because he truly believes in the results that it can provide.
